SPECIAL, LOVING + HAPPY HOME NEEDED FOR SPECIAL, LOVING + HAPPY SENIOR GIRL WITH QUITE THE SURVIVAL STORY
Hello friends! My name is Myrtle. I am a 12 (twelve) year old gorgeous silvery girl with warm silky fur, a warm and loving heart - and quite a story.
I arrived at a local shelter as a stray cat. I was emaciated. At some point in my past, my claws were removed thus depriving me of my greatest natural defense. I'm deaf - I couldn't tell where the threats might be coming from in the big scary outdoor world in which I found myself. No wonder I was scared, undernourished and completely bewildered.
Can you imagine? A deaf, declawed senior girl who'd obviously lived an indoor life suddenly on the streets and without my two greatest defenses: my claws and my sense of hearing!
Somehow I made it to the shelter - but what do you think the chances of a senior, deaf and emaciated girl making it out of a shelter?
King Street Cats saved me. I've been living with an experienced foster mom who's helped me to restore my health and my confidence.
My foster mom cannot say enough about what a wonderful, loving and easy-going companion I will make for the special person who believes in me and gives me the chance to become a cherished household member once again.
I have so much to offer.
I am a super easy kitty. I'm very content to spend my time sitting in a sunny spot, soaking up the warmth and looking out a window. I am not a lap cat but I am a friendly girl who loves to be petted. I will happily look waaay up so you can gently scratch under my chin. I'll lean into your hand so you can give me a little head rub. I love to be brushed - and you will love brushing me because I have gorgeous medium length fur. This makes me purrr happily. I adore Temptations Treats and will happily follow you around if I think you might want to give me some!
It goes without saying that since I've recuperated from my outdoor ordeal my beautiful looks have blossomed again. I am a dilute tortoiseshell girl with silvery fur shot through with sandy gold hues. I have brilliant eyes that change from spring green to light gold depending on the light. As you can see, I can stylishly carry off the "fashionable accessory" look with a pretty bow.
Yes, I am 12 years old. If you've ever loved a cat, you know that cats live well into their high teens. Please don't let my age deter you.
I will shine in a quiet, loving home without other cats or dogs. The key word here is "without." Because I am deaf and declawed, I have no choice but to remain on the defensive if I believe I am vulnerable to other animals and that's not a happy or healthy way to live. I will need my very own purrson (or people) who understand how to approach a deaf kitty and can avoid sudden, jarring moves around me or towards me. This means I would also do best without young, impulsive or restless children.
Please consider opening your heart and home to me. I am ready to be loved and love you back. I've been through a lot but I know my story has a happy ending now thanks to King Street Cats.
To meet me or get more information about how you and I can make each others' lives that much happier, please send an email to contact@kingstreetcats.org. My foster mom will be happy to answer your questions.
Thank you.
Easily yours,
